Thomas Clipper is a new men’s grooming brand, launched in December 2014 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. The company offers excellent quality razors and shaving products, which are built to last and made using natural ingredients and materials. Thomas Clipper products aim to revolutionise the traditional shave for modern men.
This Is Publicity carried out a short PR project for Thomas Clipper, tasked with securing PR coverage around the launch of the new shaving sets. We started activity in April/May to make the most of the PR opportunities presented by Father’s Day and to gain coverage in the run up to the company’s second Kickstarter campaign.
Objectives: Encourage sales of the shaving sets and raise brand awareness in the run up to the second Kickstarter campaign
Results: We secured a range of coverage in consumer print and online press, including Shortlist, GQ, Men Style Fashion, MGE magazine, Red Online and Style Pilot among others. We also secured two trade pieces. Thomas Clipper also received multiple mentions across social media platforms Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The company’s Kickstarter campaign went on to be extremely successful, receiving almost ten times the initial fundraising goal. As a result new products are being added to the product range, including a wood-turned bowl, soap and brush.
